About the Role:
We are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance and strategic growth of our Education Company, Academe International Education & Services Pvt. Ltd.
The ideal professional must bring proven expertise from Education Companies, School Groups, University operating Indian curriculum schools, CBSE/ICSE as well as CAIE/ IB curriculum, preferably with international operations (not mandatory)
The CFO will be responsible for financial leadership, compliance, international business strategy, investor confidence, and risk management while ensuring sustainable growth and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership:
Lead financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and business performance monitoring aligned with organisational goals.- Partner with the Board and senior leadership on long-term growth, M&A opportunities, and global expansion.- Drive cost optimisation, capital allocation, and profitability across multiple schools and future expansion plans
Investor & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, analysts, and stakeholders.- Develop robust investor presentations and quarterly business updates, and manage AGM/EGM requirements.- Enhance market reputation by ensuring transparent communication and benchmark corporate governance practices.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Ensure strict compliance with the Companies Act, going forward FEMA, SEBI and other legal/statutory requirements applicable- Oversee internal audits, statutory audits, risk management, and compliance with secretarial functions.- Implement strong governance, ethical practices, and risk assessment frameworks.
Treasury, Banking & Fundraising
Lead fundraising through debt/equity, manage banking relationships, and negotiate optimal financing solutions.- Oversee treasury functions, including forex management, hedging strategies, liquidity management and efficient working capital utilisation.- Explore innovative capital-raising avenues including public, private, and strategic financial partnerships.
International Business & Trade
Manage financial and compliance activities for international expansion by way of setting up new school campuses in alignment with global trade practices.- Optimise forex exposure and currency risk, and ensure regulatory compliance for overseas transactions.- Support the international expansion strategy with financial due diligence and feasibility studies.
Financial Control & Reporting
Direct and oversee accounts, taxation, budgeting, MIS, and financial controls across all business units.- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting as per Ind-AS/IFRS standards.- Lead due diligence for investments, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory-
Experience: Minimum 5-10 years, with current/most recent role as CFO in a Education company – EdTech, School group etc.
Strong track record in investor relations, compliances, corporate governance, and fundraising.
Proven experience managing multiple Schools, Offices/ Centres .- Expertise in international trade, forex, hedging, and risk management.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and strategic decision-making skills.
