Role & responsibilities:
- Design schematics and PCB layouts for embedded/MCU-based products using Altium Designer / KiCad
- Select components (MCUs, power ICs, sensors, connectors) based on datasheets and design requirements
- Perform footprint creation, library management, and design rule checks (DRC)
- Assist in power supply design (LDOs, buck/boost converters), signal integrity, and basic EMI/EMC considerations
- Support board bring-up, debugging, and testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
- Prepare BOM, Gerber files, and documentation for fabrication and assembly
- Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams for integrated product design
- Assist in prototype testing, troubleshooting, and design iterations
Preferred candidate profile
Basic Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related Engineering field (B.E./B.Tech)
- Academic or personal projects involving MCU-based PCB design
- Basic embedded C/C++ knowledge
- Familiarity with tools like multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering
Skills
- Proficiency in Altium Designer and/or KiCad
- Understanding of schematic design and multilayer PCB layout
- Basic knowledge of microcontroller-based board design (power, clock, reset, GPIO, communication interfaces – I2C, SPI, UART)
- Familiarity with datasheets, component selection, and basic analog/digital circuit design
- Understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes (DFM/DFA basics)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
