NVH Performance Engineer - CAE Chennai, Pune · Full-time · Hybrid
About the Role The NVH Performance Engineer - CAE will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality NVH performance in vehicles. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement NVH solutions. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to analyze and resolve NVH issues, collaborate with suppliers, and contribute to product development discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze NVH test data acquisition and post-processing to identify areas for improvement
- Apply knowledge of automotive full vehicle NVH function, acoustic package, and NVH treatments to optimize vehicle performance
- Conduct vehicle subjective evaluations and correlate results with objective data and physical test measurements
- Perform hands-on vehicle NVH testing on validation tracks, public roads, and in anechoic chambers for ICE and BEV vehicles
- Develop and implement NVH DVPs, including powertrain noise and vibrations, road noise, idle vibrations, HVAC noise, wind noise, and electro-mechanical noise
- Ensure regulatory compliance by conducting pass-by-noise and AVAS development tests
- Utilize advanced tools and techniques in NVH to resolve field issues and improve vehicle performance
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to discuss product development and resolve NVH issues
- Apply strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve NVH problems
- Proactively engage in product development discussions with cross-functional teams
- Maintain a valid driving license
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- Possess 6-8 years of relevant experience in the NVH CAE domain
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Exhibit effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Have thorough understanding of NVH test data acquisition and post-processing
- Possess experience working in OEM and Tier 1 Automotive industries
Good to Have
- Experience with tool knowledge such as Ansa, Nastran, Meta Post, LMS data acquisition system, FFT analyzer, and Head acoustics
