Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our team in India. In this role, you will develop insights that enhance our understanding of Stantec’s growth and business performance. This includes building dashboards and analyses that support enterprise-level programs across sales, business development, pursuits, marketing, and growth programs.
You will work in an agile delivery model, contributing through structured sprint cycles and collaborating closely with global stakeholders to deliver high-quality, well-documented analytics solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities
Develop and analyze reports that deliver actionable insights on the performance and impact of enterprise-level programs and initiatives, ensuring accurate, reliable, timely, and decision-ready metrics.
- Build, maintain, and enhance user-friendly Power BI dashboards, data models, and analytics tools.
- Manage consistent and accurate reporting of key metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with partners to identify and resolve data quality issues and continuously improve the user experience.
- Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis efficiently to support evolving business needs.
- Translate business requirements into clear analytics tasks and user stories in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain clear, well-structured documentation, including data definitions, business logic, and user guides.
- Work within an agile sprint model, managing work through ticketing systems; contributing to sprint planning; defining scope, effort, and impact; applying structured QA and UAT processes; and providing regular status updates.
- Apply established BI quality and governance standards across datasets, reports, and dashboards.
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to global stakeholders, including regular collaboration with North American teams during overlapping hours.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Able to translate complex data into concise, meaningful insights for business audiences.
- Strong understanding of business performance metrics, particularly in sales, business development, pursuits, and marketing.
- Experience working with large, complex, and disparate datasets.
- Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and analytical best practices.
- Able to work with other departments to implement new tools and processes.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong accountability and communication.
- Experience managing workflow, documentation, and collaboration using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Flexibility to work overlapping hours with North American team during evenings in India.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
- Experience in a B2B or professional services environment is strongly preferred.
Certifications (Good to Have)
- Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL‑300) or equivalent.
Mandatory
Technical skills:
- Hands‑on experience with end-to-end Power BI report and dataset/semantic model development.
- Foundational working knowledge of DAX, including building measures and applying time‑intelligence patterns and performing basic optimization.
- Ability to write SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and process automation.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for workflow tracking, collaboration, and documentation.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field).
