Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Accounts Executive to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure statutory compliance, and support financial reporting and audits. The role involves handling accounting functions specific to a defence and aerospace electronics manufacturing environment, including project-based accounting, cost tracking for R&D and production contracts, and compliance with defence procurement and export regulations. Responsibilities include invoicing, reconciliations, tax compliance, payroll, import/customs accounting, and coordination with auditors and government agencies
Responsibilities: • Account for sales, purchases, production costs, and other operational expenses, including job costing for production orders and tracking Bill of Materials (BOM) costs. • Manage accounts payable, including vendor payments, statutory payments, and employee payments. • Manage bank and cash accounts, including bank reconciliation statements (BRS) and petty cash. • Maintain prepaid expense registers. • Manage fixed assets, including updating the Fixed Assets Register (FAR) for additions and disposals, recording depreciation, and accounting for profit/loss on asset disposal. • Ensure TDS compliance by computing monthly liabilities, making timely payments, and filing TDS returns. • Verify Form 26AS and reconcile TDS credits with books of accounts. • Ensure GST compliance, including filing monthly returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-7A), accounting for input/output set-offs, and assisting in annual return filings (GSTR-9 and 9C). • Ensure payroll compliance, including timely payment and filing of PT, PF, and ESI. • Support banking compliance activities, including clearing IDPMS/EDPMS entries, handling foreign currency transactions, assisting in stock audits, and supporting credit facility renewals and agreement registrations. • Assist the Company Secretary in filing forms under the Companies Act, FEMA, etc., including providing necessary data and documentation. • Prepare monthly MIS reports and other ad hoc reports as required by management. • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements. • Coordinate with statutory auditors and respond to audit queries in collaboration with team members. • Liaise with bankers, vendors, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Key Skills & Competencies: • Working knowledge of ERPNext or any other ERP - Mandatory • Advanced Knowledge of MS Office Excel - Mandatory • End-to-end accounting knowledge - Mandatory • Working knowledge of GST compliance – Mandatory • Working knowledge of TDS compliance – Mandatory • Working knowledge of Payroll compliance – Preferable • Experience in government / defence contract billing and receivables management (HAL, BEL, DRDO, MoD customers) – Preferable • Knowledge of customs regulations, DGFT licenses, FEMA compliance (IDPMS/EDPMS), and defence industry regulations – Preferred • Soft Skills – Strong communication and drafting skills, interpersonal skills, team spirit, and goal-oriented
Education: CA Inter Completed / CA Final Dropout ● Experience: 5 to 6 years (inclusive of 3yrs articleship) in end-to-end accounting and statutory compliance. Candidates must have direct exposure to manufacturing, project-based, or EPC accounting. Prior experience in Defence, Aerospace, Electronics Manufacturing, or Government contract-based organisations will be given preference.
