Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced and result-oriented Operations Manager who can independently manage and drive complete plant operations for a large-scale manufacturing facility spread across approximately 1 acre.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in end-to-end factory operations, production planning, manpower handling, machine management, vendor coordination, dispatch operations, procurement, quality control, maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Complete Plant Operations Management
· Independently manage complete day-to-day plant operations across all departments.
· Ensure smooth functioning of production, fabrication, powder coating, assembly, finishing, dispatch, and logistics.
· Monitor operational productivity and ensure daily production targets are achieved.
· Develop and implement operational systems, SOPs, and process improvements.
· Handle overall coordination between production, procurement, stores, maintenance, dispatch, and management.
2. Production & Manufacturing Management
· Oversee complete production planning and execution.
· Ensure proper workflow management from raw material to finished goods.
· Monitor fabrication quality, welding standards, cutting accuracy, and finishing processes.
· Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and production resources.
· Minimize production downtime and operational losses.
· Handle production scheduling as per delivery timelines.
3. Metal Fabrication & Powder Coating Supervision
· Strong understanding of:
o Sheet metal fabrication
o Welding processes
o CNC/laser cutting operations
o Bending operations
o Powder coating processes
o Surface treatment & finishing
· Ensure proper quality standards in fabrication and coating processes.
· Monitor rework, wastage, and rejection control.
4. Furniture Manufacturing Operations
· Manage end-to-end furniture production processes.
· Understanding of modular/industrial/commercial furniture manufacturing.
· Ensure quality standards in structure, finishing, fitting, packaging, and dispatch.
· Coordinate with design and execution teams for production feasibility.
5. Machine Handling & Maintenance
· Handle factory machinery operations and utilization.
· Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
· Ensure proper machine upkeep and minimum downtime.
· Monitor machine performance, productivity, and operational safety.
· Experience handling industrial machines related to fabrication and furniture manufacturing is mandatory.
6. Procurement & Vendor Management
· Handle procurement of raw materials, fabrication materials, hardware, coatings, consumables, and operational supplies.
· Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
· Negotiate pricing, timelines, and quality standards with vendors.
· Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores.
7. Loading, Unloading & Dispatch Operations
· Supervise loading/unloading activities and material movement.
· Ensure safe handling of finished goods and raw materials.
· Coordinate dispatch schedules and transportation arrangements.
· Ensure timely delivery management and dispatch documentation.
8. Manpower & Team Management
· Manage supervisors, operators, helpers, guards, loaders, and support staff.
· Maintain discipline, attendance, shift management, and workforce productivity.
· Conduct team coordination meetings and daily operational reviews.
· Resolve operational issues and manpower conflicts efficiently.
· Ensure accountability and performance management across teams.
9. Security & Facility Management
· Monitor complete factory premises, gate management, and guard operations.
· Ensure security compliance for material movement and inventory control.
· Handle infrastructure maintenance and overall plant discipline.
· Coordinate housekeeping, utility management, and workplace cleanliness.
10. Quality Control & Compliance
· Ensure quality standards across production and finished goods.
· Monitor inspection processes and quality checkpoints.
· Implement corrective and preventive actions for operational issues.
· Ensure compliance with factory safety norms and operational protocols.
· Maintain operational reports, production MIS, and management updates.
11. Cost Control & Operational Efficiency
· Reduce operational wastage and improve efficiency.
· Monitor production costs and process optimization.
· Improve productivity through system implementation and operational discipline.
· Ensure better turnaround time and process accountability.
Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in operations/production management within the furniture or interior products industry.
· Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, and workflows.
· Proven experience in managing production teams and coordinating across departments.
· Ability to plan schedules, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience handling operations of a plant spread across approximately 1 acre or equivalent operational scale is mandatory.
· Willingness to travel to factories, vendor sites, and project locations when required.
· Graduate/Diploma in Production, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
