Forklift Operator – Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely for loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, pallets, and other items within the warehouse/factory.
- Inspect the forklift before each shift and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Follow all workplace safety rules, speed limits, and designated forklift routes.
- Ensure loads are properly balanced, secured, and within the forklift’s capacity.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Place materials in designated storage locations and maintain proper stacking.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement when required.
- Keep the forklift and work area clean and organized.
- Perform routine checks such as battery/fuel, tyres, brakes, forks, lights, and hydraulic systems.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams for material movement.
- Immediately report accidents, damages, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Follow PPE requirements and other company safety procedures.
- Carry out other material-handling duties assigned by the supervisor.
