Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Panchkula for an HMC VMC CMM Operator cum Setter. The role involves operating and setting Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC), Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to meet production and quality requirements. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, setting machine parameters, and performing precision machining operations. The operator will monitor machine performance, perform basic troubleshooting, and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality specifications through accurate measurement and inspection. Daily tasks also include maintaining a clean and safe work area, following safety protocols, and collaborating with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules. Qualifications Strong hands-on experience operating and setting HMC and VMC machines, with the ability to handle routine adjustments and basic maintenance. Proficiency in using CMM or other precision measuring instruments, with a solid understanding of dimensional inspection and quality checks. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and technical documentation, including tolerances and machining symbols. Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, machining parameters, and material properties relevant to CNC operations. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to identify and resolve machining or measurement issues promptly. Commitment to workplace safety practices and adherence to standard operating procedures in an industrial environment. Prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting; experience with CNC programming or offsets is an advantage. Relevant technical qualification or diploma in mechanical, production, or related field preferred; freshers with strong technical aptitude may also be considered.
