Overview:
We are looking for a mid-level OpenShift Administrator to install, secure, and operate Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments — ensuring high availability, security compliance, and operational efficiency for containerized workloads.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and administer OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x) clusters across on-prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
-
Perform cluster lifecycle operations — scaling, zero-downtime upgrades, node management, and Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) administration.
-
Configure and manage RBAC, projects/namespaces, and multi-tenancy for secure, isolated team environments.
-
Implement and enforce Security Context Constraints (SCC), network policies, image scanning, and CIS benchmark compliance.
-
Set up centralized logging and monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and the EFK/Loki stack for cluster and workload observability.
-
Manage persistent storage (OpenShift Data Foundation/Ceph, NFS, cloud-native storage) and backup/DR using tools such as Velero.
-
Diagnose and resolve cluster, node, pod, and networking issues across the platform.
-
Automate day-2 operations using Ansible and GitOps practices (ArgoCD/OpenShift GitOps).
-
Support application teams with containerization, onboarding, and deployment best practices.
-
Manage resource quotas, limit ranges, and cost/capacity optimization across clusters.
-
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-
4–7 years of overall experience in Kubernetes/container platform administration, including at least 2 years working directly with OpenShift.
Essential skills:
- Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x).
-
Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, objects, and cluster administration.
-
Solid Linux administration skills (RHEL/CoreOS) including networking and storage fundamentals.
-
Knowledge of container security practices — SCC, network policies, image/vulnerability scanning.
-
Experience with monitoring and logging stacks — Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/Loki.
-
Familiarity with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD/OpenShift GitOps) and Ansible-based automation.
-
Understanding of storage solutions such as ODF/Ceph, NFS, or cloud-native persistent storage.
Desired skills:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
-
Experience with multi-cluster management using Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM).
-
Exposure to CI/CD integration with OpenShift via Tekton, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
