About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated IT Project Engineer to join our Projects team in Pune. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, coordinating, and successfully delivering IT infrastructure, networking, and technology integration projects.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on technical knowledge, project execution experience, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage projects from installation through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities : Project Execution & Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT infrastructure and networking projects from start to completion.
- Review project scope, BOQ, technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Prepare project execution plans, schedules, material requirements, and manpower requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within the approved schedule.
- Identify project risks, technical issues, and execution challenges and provide suitable solutions.
- Conduct regular site visits and monitor installation and implementation activities.
- Ensure projects are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
IT & Networking Responsibilities
- Hands-on knowledge of LAN/WAN, structured cabling, network infrastructure, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, and rack infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot basic networking equipment and connectivity issues.
- Coordinate installation and testing of network equipment, servers, racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure.
- Understand IP addressing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with IT teams for network integration, testing, and commissioning.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and rectification of technical issues during project implementation.
Audio-Visual / ELV Coordination
- Coordinate installation and integration of AV/ELV systems where applicable.
- Work with AV equipment such as displays, projectors, video conferencing systems, speakers, amplifiers, control systems, and related infrastructure.
- Coordinate with specialised AV engineers and vendors for installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning.
- Ensure proper integration between IT/networking infrastructure and AV systems.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including:
- Project schedules
- Daily/weekly progress reports
- Site reports
- Installation checklists
- Testing & commissioning reports
- Material reconciliation
- As-built documentation
- Snag lists and closure reports
- Handover documents
- Review and maintain technical drawings and documentation.
- Prepare project status reports for management and clients.
- Ensure all project documentation is completed before final handover.
Client & Team Coordination
- Act as the technical point of contact at project sites.
- Attend client meetings and provide project updates.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Procurement, Stores, Sales, and Service teams.
- Guide technicians and installation teams during project execution.
- Ensure proper communication between all project stakeholders.
- Handle client concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure installation work follows approved technical standards and project specifications.
- Conduct quality checks during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure site teams follow applicable safety procedures.
- Identify and report quality and safety issues to the Project Manager.
- Support successful project handover and client acceptance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
- Knowledge of structured cabling and network rack installation.
- Basic understanding of firewalls and network security.
- Knowledge of AV/ELV systems will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read technical drawings, layouts, BOQs, and specifications.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and project documentation.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, networking, system integration, or technology projects.
- Experience in handling commercial, corporate, data centre, or large-scale infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Strong project coordination and site management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to client/project sites within Pune and other locations as required.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with project teams.
- Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and commitment towards project delivery.
