BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 57 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.
GENERAL
Location of Job: Rajpura, Punjab

Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Job type: Contractual for 1-year, renewable basis project requirements.
JOB PURPOSE
Driving the Mobile Medical Unit and is responsible for movement to planned village according to the route maps and responsible for its maintenance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Drive the vehicle to designated locations to ensure OPDs are conducted punctually and according to the schedule.

Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle, both inside and outside, to uphold hygiene standards for the Mobile OPD.

Record Maintenance
-
Keep an accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbook to monitor fuel consumption and vehicle movement.

Vehicle Maintenance
-
Inform the MMU Manager promptly about any maintenance issues or requirements.

Ensure the van has adequate fuel to conduct scheduled OPDs and notify the MMU Manager well in advance if a fuel top-up is required.

Community Assistance

Assist the team with community mobilization, patient registration, and queue management during OPDs.

Equipment and Safety

Ensure all van equipment, such as the inverter and air conditioning, is in working condition. Report any faults or damages to the MMU Manager immediately.

Additional Duties
-
Perform other tasks assigned by the Medical Officer (MO) or MMU Manager as needed.

Filling of fuel in the vehicles; and keep the record of fuel purchased.

At the start of your duty hours, you would check the vehicle’s brake system, electrical system, lubrication system and cooling system and tyres as well as prepare yourself for emergencies
Other Indicative Requirements
Educational Qualifications
10th/ 12th/ Graduation
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioral, Language, Certifications etc.)

2 – 5 years of driving experience

Experience in driving ambulance or heavy vehicle preferable

Must have heavy driving License

Having knowledge of routes and villages preferable
