We are a leading marine engineering company based in the maritime hub of Mumbai. We provide critical repair, dry-docking, and maintenance services to the commercial shipping, offshore oil & gas, and defense sectors. We are looking for a strategic HR Manager to lead our human resources operations, drive talent acquisition for specialized roles, and foster a high-performance, safety-critical culture. Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for specialized technical roles, including Marine Engineers, Naval Architects, Project Managers, and skilled technicians.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast hiring needs for dry-docking and ongoing shipyard or offshore projects.
2. Compliance & Maritime Regulations
- Ensure all HR practices strictly comply with the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006) and local DG Shipping regulations.
- Manage employee documentation, visa processing, and statutory compliance required for international and domestic waters.
- Maintain adherence to strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies alongside operational management.
3. Performance Management & Training
- Administer the annual performance appraisal process, specifically tailored to project-based engineering deliverables and offshore milestones.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate with technical managers to arrange mandatory and safety training programs.
- Support career development and succession planning for key technical and leadership staff.
4. Compensation, Payroll & Benefits
- Oversee payroll processing, taxations, and statutory benefits (PF, ESIC, Gratuity) for staff.
- Structure competitive compensation and benefits packages to retain highly specialized marine talent in the competitive Mumbai market.
5. Employee Relations & Culture Building
- Act as an HR Business Partner, aligning HR strategies with the company's overarching business objectives.
- Resolve workplace grievances and maintain a harmonious, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Promote a culture of safety, continual improvement, and technical service excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of core HR management experience, ideally within the marine engineering, shipping, manufacturing, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of Indian labor laws, and statutory compliance.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in HRMS/HRIS systems.
- Location constraints: Candidates currently residing or willing to work on-site in Mumbai.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹54,414.20 per month
