Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and detail-oriented Law Clerk / Office Clerk for immediate joining. The role primarily involves record management, court filing assistance, office administration, and litigation support before the High Court, particularly in matters relating to Income Tax Law and Civil Law. The candidate will work closely with the office team and assist in ensuring the smooth handling of legal and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
Record Management & Documentation
- Organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding official court documents, case files, and legal records.
- Preserving filings and maintaining the Register of Actions and case records.
- Managing physical and electronic filing systems.
- Ensuring proper indexing, storage, and retrieval of legal documents.
Court Filing & Administrative Support
- Assisting with filing of petitions, affidavits, applications, and other court documents.
- Coordinating with court departments and government offices regarding filings and procedural requirements.
- Tracking court dates, deadlines, and compliance requirements.
- Collecting certified copies, orders, and other court records as required.
Office Administration
- Handling correspondence, emails, courier dispatches, and telephone communications.
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and maintaining office calendars.
- Managing office records and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assisting advocates with document preparation and case-related administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of court procedures and legal documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, email communication, and document management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Prior experience in a law office will be an added advantage.
