Yoga Teacher – Job Description
A Yoga Teacher is responsible for guiding students in the practice of yoga to improve their physical health, mental well-being, flexibility, and mindfulness through structured yoga sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct yoga classes for individuals or groups
- Teach asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation
- Ensure correct posture, alignment, and breathing during practice
- Modify poses to suit different age groups, fitness levels, and health conditions
- Promote safe practice and prevent injuries
- Create a calm, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Educate students about yoga philosophy, lifestyle, and wellness
- Maintain discipline and focus during sessions
Health & Safety Duties
- Monitor students for physical limitations or discomfort
- Provide first-aid guidance when required
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the yoga space
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance records and class schedules
- Coordinate with school/organization management
- Participate in workshops, training programs, and school events
- Communicate progress and wellness guidance to students/parents (if applicable)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of yoga practices and techniques
- Good communication and demonstration skills
- Patience, empathy, and motivational ability
- Awareness of anatomy and injury prevention
- Calm and positive attitude
Educational Qualifications (Typical)
- Diploma/Certificate in Yoga (from recognized institute)
- Graduation in any discipline (preferred in schools)
- Yoga Alliance Certification (for professional institutes)
- CTET / State TET (for government school yoga teacher posts, if required)

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
