Job Summary
The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while supervising junior nursing staff and ensuring compliance with clinical standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols. The role involves clinical care, team coordination, documentation, patient education, and supporting the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients according to their individual care plans.
- Assess patients, monitor vital signs, identify changes in clinical condition, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, injections, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors and other healthcare professionals during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, nursing notes, medication charts, and other clinical documentation.
- Supervise and guide Staff Nurses, Junior Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and other support staff.
- Allocate duties and coordinate nursing activities within the assigned unit or shift.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control practices.
- Follow medication safety, patient identification, fall prevention, and other patient-safety protocols.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment, medication, hygiene, nutrition, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure proper handover and takeover of patient care between shifts.
- Monitor availability and appropriate use of medicines, equipment, and nursing supplies.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and participate in resuscitation and emergency procedures as required.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, relatives, doctors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support implementation of hospital policies, nursing protocols, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in audits, training programs, quality-improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards.
- Report incidents, adverse events, and safety concerns to the appropriate authority.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing..
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or multispecialty healthcare setting.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior nursing staff is preferred.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
