The clinic provides a wide range of veterinary services, including internal medicine and critical care, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, pathology, soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, pain management, dental care, and minimally invasive spays and neuters.
About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Veterinary Pharmacist to join our veterinary healthcare team. The candidate will be responsible for managing veterinary prescriptions, dispensing medications accurately, maintaining pharmacy inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling of medicines, and coordinating closely with veterinarians and the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and accurately dispense medications based on prescriptions issued by veterinarians.
- Ensure appropriate dosage, frequency, route of administration, and duration of medications as prescribed.
- Develop a good understanding of commonly used veterinary medicines, formulations, dosage requirements, and indications.
- Coordinate with veterinarians to clarify prescriptions, medication availability, dosage instructions, and potential drug interactions.
- Provide appropriate medication-related information and instructions to the clinical team and pet parents/caregivers, as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory, including medicines, consumables, and other pharmacy supplies.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of medicines.
- Monitor expiry dates, batch numbers, storage conditions, and stock movement.
- Ensure proper storage of temperature-sensitive, refrigerated, controlled, and high-risk medications as per applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, purchases, returns, wastage, and stock reconciliation.
- Support regular pharmacy audits and maintain proper documentation.
- Identify and report medication shortages, discrepancies, damaged stock, and near-expiry medicines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy, drug storage, documentation, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement and availability of medicines.
- Assist the veterinary clinical team in maintaining efficient medication workflows.
- Support implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to pharmacy and medication management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Assist in improving medication management processes within the veterinary hospital/clinic.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.Pharm – Preferred
- B.Pharm – Eligible
- 1–5 years of experience in a hospital, clinical, veterinary, or healthcare pharmacy environment is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in veterinary pharmacy / animal healthcare will have an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage forms, and medication safety.
- Good understanding of inventory and pharmacy management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working closely with veterinarians and clinical teams.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
