Job Description
Optimize Tooling Life
-
Determine initial tooling requirements
-
Establish Optimum Tooling Inventory and usage
-
Establish Effective PM to Minimize Tooling Investment and Maximize Availability and Performance and monitor regrind (through tool room & outside sources)/Repair/Refurbish, reduce overall tooling cost through efficiencies.

Set up and operate manual Toolroom machines (lathes, milling machines, grinders, EDM).

Modify, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures as per specifications.

Read and interpret engineering drawings.

Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.

Inspect and verify components using micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and other precision tools.

Ensure conformance to specifications and maintain strict tolerances.
Develops, Applies and Implements Systems and Methodologies:
-
Applies and implements systems and methodologies as defined by the Oetiker Production System
-
Applies continuous improvement methods to improve the implementation of these systems and methodology
-
Work Close with Production, PPE(Engineering Dep), and Quality to define resource and project plans as required to support production strategies, objectives and requirements.
New Tool and Spares Procurement.

Discussion with vendor and other global entities to procure the tooling on time.

Incoming inspection of tools and spares.

Timely procurement of spares

Timely regrinding of spares and maintaining of critical spare parts.
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical/Tool and Die engineering/ Mechanical Engineering (1-3 Yrs).

Lean Manufacturing:

Basic knowledge of Lean Elements such as: 5S, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Kanban, Pokayoke, Process Mapping, SMED, SPC, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, etc…

Mechanical Design:
-
Full understanding Engineering Drawing principles and GD&T.

Fundamental knowledge of metallurgy and material science
-
Full understanding & hands on experience of Toolroom operations (Lathe, Surface Grinder, Cylindrical grinder,VMC )
