Position Title: Hostel Warden
Department: Hostel Administration

Job Purpose
The Hostel Warden is responsible for the overall administration, discipline, safety, welfare, and smooth functioning of the hostel. The Warden shall ensure that all residents are provided with a safe, hygienic, secure, and supportive living environment conducive to their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities1. Hostel Administration
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the hostel.
- Allocate rooms to residents as per institutional policies.
- Maintain updated records of hostel occupancy, admissions, and vacancies.
- Ensure compliance with hostel rules and regulations.
- Maintain all hostel registers and documentation.
2. Student Welfare and Counselling
- Act as the first point of contact for students residing in the hostel.
- Provide guidance, counselling, and emotional support to residents.
- Address residents' grievances promptly and fairly.
- Encourage healthy interpersonal relationships and harmonious living.
3. Discipline and Conduct
- Maintain discipline and decorum within the hostel premises.
- Investigate incidents of misconduct and report serious matters to higher authorities.
- Take corrective and preventive actions wherever necessary.
4. Safety and Security
- Ensure the safety and security of all hostel residents.
- Coordinate with security personnel for effective monitoring.
- Ensure implementation of emergency response procedures.
5. Health and Emergency Management
- Arrange immediate medical assistance during emergencies.
- Coordinate with the hospital/medical team for treatment of residents.
- Maintain first-aid facilities in the hostel.
- Inform parents/guardians and management in case of serious illness or emergencies.
6. Housekeeping and Hygiene
- Supervise cleanliness of rooms, corridors, washrooms, and common areas.
- Ensure adequate sanitation and hygienic conditions.
7. Maintenance and Infrastructure
- Report maintenance requirements promptly.
- Coordinate with engineering/facility departments for repairs.
- Ensure proper upkeep of hostel furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Prevent damage and misuse of hostel property.
8. Mess and Food Services
- Monitor the quality, hygiene, and nutritional standards of food served.
- Address complaints related to food services.
9. Parent and Institutional Coordination
- Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians.
- Update them regarding important issues concerning residents.
- Coordinate with academic departments and administrative offices.
- Submit periodic reports to management.
10. Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintain the records as per provisions of Institution
Qualification and ExperienceEssential Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Preferred Qualification
- Postgraduate degree in Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Nursing, or Hospitality Management.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hostel administration, educational institutions, hospitals, nursing hostels, or residential facilities.

Working Conditions
- Residential position; accommodation within the hostel premises may be provided.
- Availability beyond regular working hours to handle emergencies.
- Weekly off and leave as per institutional policy.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
