The Salesforce Functional Project Manager will be responsible for leading Salesforce implementation and enhancement projects from a functional and delivery perspective. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, translated into functional solutions, and delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality. The role requires strong Salesforce functional expertise, stakeholder management, and project governance skills.
- Lead end-to-end Salesforce projects including implementations, enhancements, migrations, and integrations.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, RAID logs, and status reports.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Salesforce Admins, Developers, QA, and external vendors.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Validate proposed Salesforce solutions to ensure alignment with business needs and Salesforce best practices.
- Lead functional design workshops, requirement walkthroughs, and solution review sessions.
- Provide functional leadership across Salesforce clouds such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud (as applicable).
- Ensure proper configuration of Salesforce features including workflows, flows, validation rules, approval processes, reports, and dashboards.
- Oversee data management, data migration, and data quality activities.
- Ensure system usability, scalability, and adoption across user groups.
- Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Provide regular project updates, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve functional or delivery-related conflicts.
- Ensure adherence to project governance, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Review functional designs and test cases to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support UAT planning, execution, defect triage, and sign-off.
- Ensure compliance with Salesforce security, data privacy, and access control standards.
- Support change management activities including user training, documentation, and rollout planning.
- Ensure smooth transition from project delivery to post-go-live support.
- Drive user adoption through effective communication and training initiatives.
- Strong functional knowledge of Salesforce platform and core features.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration (Flows, Reports, Dashboards, Security Model).
- Experience working across Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Experience; Marketing Cloud is a plus).
- Understanding of Salesforce data model, integrations, and APIs (functional perspective).
- Proven experience managing Salesforce or CRM projects.
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall project methodologies.
- Experience in risk management, scope control, and resource planning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

- 10+ years of overall experience with 5+ years in Salesforce functional or project management roles.
