About TUVA TUVA is a premium clinical skincare brand built on rare, farm-grown botanicals — aloe vera, liquorice, blue lotus, red sandalwood, spirulina, mango butter, and neem — combined with certified thermal spring water from Tuva Timba. We're in active build phase, moving from formulation and lab setup toward our first production runs and soft launch. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the science behind a brand designed to compete in India's premium skincare segment. The Role We're looking for a hands-on Cosmetic Formulation Chemist to take our hero SKUs from bench formulation to stable, scalable, regulatory-compliant products. You'll work closely with the founder, with direct access to our own farm-grown raw material base and extraction protocols already developed in-house. Responsibilities Develop, refine, and stabilize formulations for serums, creams, and treatment products using botanical actives (liquorice, blue lotus, red sandalwood, neem, etc.) and functional actives (Vitamin C, ceramides, salicylic acid/BHA) Conduct stability testing, compatibility testing, and preservative efficacy testing Scale formulations from lab batch to pilot/production batch sizes Work with extraction protocols for botanical raw materials and help optimize yield and potency Ensure formulations meet BIS, CDSCO, and relevant cosmetic regulatory standards for the Indian market Maintain formulation documentation, batch records, and ingredient traceability (supporting our QR-based Source Certificate system) Troubleshoot formulation issues during early production runs Collaborate on packaging compatibility (jars, airless pumps, tubes) for finished formulations Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related field 2+ years of hands-on cosmetic/skincare formulation experience (early-career candidates with strong lab fundamentals will also be considered) Working knowledge of emulsions, actives stability, pH/viscosity control, and preservation systems Familiarity with Indian regulatory requirements for cosmetics (BIS standards) Comfortable working in a startup environment — flexible, hands-on, willing to work close to raw material sourcing (farm-based botanicals) Based in or willing to relocate to Gujarat Nice to Have Experience with natural/botanical actives and extraction methods Experience formulating for hyperpigmentation, barrier repair, or acne-prone skin categories Exposure to PMEGP-funded or early-stage manufacturing setups What We Offer Direct involvement in building a brand from the ground up, with ownership over formulation decisions Access to a unique raw material base — our own farm and a certified thermal spring water source Competitive compensation aligned with experience Potential for growth into a senior R&D role as the company scales
