Role Summary
The Asset Management Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate asset and CMDB records in ServiceNow by performing data updates validations reconciliations and audits
The role focuses on record maintenance data quality and governance to ensure the CMDB remains reliable for ITSM reporting audits and service impact analysis
Key Responsibilities
CMDB Asset Record Maintenance
Create update and maintain IT asset and CI records in ServiceNow CMDB AMDB
Update CI attributes such as status ownership location lifecycle state and relationships
Ensure asset and CI records comply with defined standards naming conventions and lifecycle rules SUPPIT Ant Process PDF
Perform bulk updates using import sets or approved data loads governed changes only
Data Quality Validation
Monitor and improve CMDB data completeness correctness and compliance
Perform regular data validation and reconciliation against discovery tools source systems and vendor data
Identify duplicate obsolete or incorrect CIs and coordinate remediation
Support data certification and audit cycles as per CMDB governance
Operational Support Controls
Process service requests and changedriven updates related to asset and CI data
Validate CMDB updates linked to Incident Change and Request workflows
Support configuration and asset audits by providing evidence and reports
Track and report data quality issues and exceptions to the Asset CMDB Manager SUPPIT Ant Process PDF
Reporting Documentation
Generate standard reports on
Asset inventory and CI status
CMDB data quality metrics
Audit observations and remediation status
Maintain operational documentation and work instructions for CMDB data maintenance activities
Required Skills Experience
Mandatory
5-8 years of experience in IT Asset Management or CMDB operations
Handson experience with ServiceNow CMDB AMDB for record maintenance
Strong understanding of
CI lifecycle states
Asset lifecycle tracking
Data quality and audit controls
Familiarity with ITIL processes Incident Change Request
Good to Have
Experience working with CMDB Health Dashboards
Exposure to ServiceNow Discovery governancevalidation perspective
Basic knowledge of CSDM concepts
ServiceNow CMDB ITAM training or certification
Key KPIs
CMDB data accuracy and completeness
Number of audit findings exceptions
SLA adherence for data update requests
