About AGCX
Arab Global Crypto Exchange (AGCX) is an upcoming UAE-based digital asset exchange focused on delivering a secure, transparent and compliance-driven trading experience for retail, professional and institutional market participants across the GCC and beyond.
AGCX operates through an entity licensed by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Abu Dhabi, and is supported by an experienced leadership team with deep expertise across cryptocurrency exchanges, financial services, technology, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance. The Board includes distinguished Non-Executive Directors, including members of the UAE Royal Family, providing strategic oversight and long-term governance.
Our vision is to make digital assets more accessible through trust, operational excellence and strong regulatory standards. Rather than chasing growth at any cost, we are building an exchange where security, compliance and customer confidence are fundamental to every decision.
As we prepare for launch, we are looking for ambitious professionals who want to help build one of the region's next-generation digital asset exchanges from the ground up and contribute to shaping the future of digital finance in the GCC.

Role Purpose
The KYC Analyst - Crypto Exchange is responsible for verifying customer identity and applying risk-based due diligence at onboarding and throughout the customer lifecycle, ensuring only legitimately verified, appropriately risk-tiered customers gain access to AGCX's platform. The role sits at the first line of defence for financial crime prevention, working closely with AGCX's identity verification and blockchain screening tools to make sound, well-documented onboarding decisions.
The position requires sound judgement, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to apply established due-diligence procedures consistently under volume. The role is operational in nature and does not make regulatory or enforcement decisions; any confirmed screening match, suspected fraud or unusual activity is escalated to the MLRO in accordance with internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Identity Verification & Onboarding
- Review identity documents, proof-of-address submissions and liveness checks for completeness, authenticity and consistency.
- Action cases escalated by the automated verification workflow that fail straight-through processing, applying judgement within defined procedures.
Risk-Based Due Diligence
- Apply AGCX's risk-tiering methodology to new accounts based on jurisdiction, document type, customer profile and screening results.
- Identify accounts requiring Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and prepare supporting documentation for Compliance review.
Screening & Escalation
- Cross-check sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening hits generated during onboarding.
- Escalate confirmed matches or suspected identity fraud to the MLRO with full supporting evidence — true hits are never closed independently.
Periodic Review & Re-verification
- Support periodic KYC refresh cycles for existing customers in line with risk tier and regulatory timelines.
- Flag document types, jurisdictions or edge cases that fall outside the current onboarding configuration for review.
Documentation & Audit Readiness
- Maintain accurate, timely records of onboarding decisions to support internal audit and regulatory review.
- Ensure case files are complete and defensible on sample review by Compliance or external auditors.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Compliance/MLRO on escalations, Exchange Operations on withdrawal-related identity queries, and Customer Support on onboarding-status queries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years' experience in KYC/AML onboarding, customer due diligence, or a regulated financial services back-office role.
- Working knowledge of identity document types and verification standards across multiple jurisdictions.
- Understanding of risk-based due diligence (CDD/EDD) concepts and sanctions/PEP screening.
- Familiarity with eKYC platforms such as Didit, Sumsub or Onfido is preferred.
- Exposure to blockchain analytics or KYT tools such as Chainalysis is advantageous.
- High attention to detail — this is a compliance control function, not a processing task.
- Comfortable working in a regulated environment with strict adherence to SOPs and audit requirements.
- Excellent written documentation and case-note skills.
- Willingness to work a 12-hour shift rota to support onboarding queue coverage, including weekends.
Success Measures (KPIs)
- Onboarding turnaround times consistently within agreed SLA.
- Zero missed true-positive screening matches.
- Clean, audit-ready case documentation on sample review.
- Accurate and timely completion of periodic re-verification cycles.
- Prompt escalation of suspected fraud or high-risk cases.
