Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform laboratory tests, handle patient samples, operate laboratory equipment, and maintain accurate test records. The candidate should follow strict quality-control, safety, and infection-control procedures while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples such as blood, urine, and other clinical specimens.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations according to approved protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and laboratory materials as required.
- Ensure proper sample identification, handling, storage, and disposal.
- Perform quality-control checks and report abnormal or inconsistent results to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, registers, and documentation.
- Ensure timely processing and dispatch of laboratory reports.
- Follow infection-control, biomedical-waste management, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Monitor reagent and consumable stock and inform the supervisor about shortages.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene within the laboratory.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- DMLT / B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT) or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Valid registration/certification as applicable.
- Additional training in specialized laboratory procedures is an advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre, fertility centre, or clinical laboratory preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and clinical training may also be considered.
Skills Required
- Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and sample handling.
- Knowledge of hematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, and microbiology procedures as applicable.
- Ability to operate laboratory analyzers and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of quality-control procedures.
- Good documentation and computer skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
