Business Development Officer (BDO)
Job Summary
The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, acquiring corporate and retail customers, increasing revenue, and maintaining long-term customer relationships. The role requires extensive field visits, market analysis, competitor monitoring, and coordination with operations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and acquire new customers within the assigned territory.
- Generate leads through cold calling, field visits, referrals, networking, and digital channels.
- Meet monthly and annual sales targets.
- Develop customized logistics and courier solutions for customers.
- Negotiate commercial terms in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and customer presentations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Conduct regular customer visits to ensure service satisfaction.
- Address customer concerns and coordinate with operations for timely resolution.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
Market Intelligence
- Study competitor pricing, services, and promotional activities.
- Identify emerging market trends and business opportunities.
- Submit regular market intelligence reports to management.
Sales Administration
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales pipeline.
- Submit daily visit reports, weekly sales reports, and monthly performance reports.
- Ensure proper documentation for new customer onboarding.
- Follow company credit policies and assist in collection follow-ups where required.
Coordination
- Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Accounts departments.
- Ensure smooth implementation of newly acquired customer accounts.
- Monitor service quality and customer feedback after onboarding.

- Monthly revenue achieved

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
- MBA in Marketing is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in sales or business development.
- Experience in the courier, logistics, express distribution, transportation, or supply chain industry is preferred.

- Understanding of freight pricing, service commitments, and delivery networks.
- Experience handling corporate clients such as manufacturers, e-commerce businesses, healthcare, retail, and financial institutions.
- Ability to identify opportunities for express, surface, air cargo, and value-added logistics services.
