The Role
We're looking for a Senior SDET who combines deep automation expertise with strategic thinking and mentorship. You'll own quality for critical product areas, build scalable automation frameworks, drive testing best practices, and help level up the team. This role is perfect for someone who loves solving complex problems, writing clean automation code, and making quality everyone's responsibility.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end quality for your pod: Functional testing, API automation, UI automation, performance testing Build and optimize automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Design API test suites from scratch; champion API-first testing approach
- Solve complex testing challenges: Flaky tests, test data management, multi-tenant scenarios, performance bottlenecks
- Drive testing strategy: Determine optimal test layer (API vs UI), ensure testing pyramid adherence, reduce manual toil
- Mentor junior engineers: Code reviews, pair programming, sharing best practices
- Lead RCAs for production issues; implement preventive measures to stop repeat failures
- Work with Sentry, Coralogix, or similar monitoring tools to understand production patterns and inform testing Collaborate with architects, PMs, and developers in design reviews and sprint planningWhat You Bring
Must-Have Skills: Nice-to-Have Skills:
- 5-8 years in QA/SDET roles with proven automation experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript or JavaScript)
- Built or significantly contributed to automation frameworks from the ground up
- Solid API testing experience (REST/GraphQL); ability to design comprehensive API test suites Proficient in TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Proven ability to solve complex testing challenges: flakiness, test data, execution time optimization Mentorship experience: Code reviews, guiding junior engineers, knowledge sharing
- Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate across functions
- Experience in SQL and database testing
- Experience in testing messaging service (Apache Kafka, pub/sub models)
- Experience with performance testing tools (K6, JMeter)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Sentry, Coralogix, Datadog, New Relic)
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with visual regression testing or accessibility testing
Pay: ₹1,600,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
