A Hotel Sales Manager drives revenue by maximizing room occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and event bookings. They proactively prospect for corporate, group, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) business while maintaining client relationships. Key duties include developing sales strategies, negotiating contracts, and conducting market research to outperform competitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Generation: Achieve, or exceed, established top-line revenue goals, occupancy, and event space bookings.
- Account Management: Cultivate new leads through cold calls, site visits, and telemarketing while maintaining existing corporate/travel industry relationships.
- Strategy & Planning: Execute sales strategies, prepare marketing plans, and set pricing strategies in coordination with revenue management.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Draft and negotiate contracts, proposals, and group rates for clients.
- Networking: Attend industry trade shows and community events to increase brand visibility.
- Reporting: Deliver regular sales activity reports, forecasts, and market trend analysis to senior management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5+ years in hospitality sales or revenue management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality Management preferred.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills are crucial.
- Technology: Proficiency in CRM systems, hotel property management systems (PMS), and Microsoft Office.
