Interior Designer (with Furniture Detailing Expertise)

Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. In this role, you will handle projects from initial concept through to execution. A critical requirement for this position is the ability to create highly accurate, detailed manufacturing and construction drawings for custom furniture and millwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative design concepts, space plans, and material palettes that align with client briefs.
- Produce comprehensive, detailed production drawings, sections, and joinery details for custom furniture and built-in fixtures.
- Create 2D drafting packages (layouts, elevations, and electrical plans) and 3D renderings.
- Select and source appropriate materials, finishes, hardware, and fabrics for both interiors and custom furniture pieces.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and vendors to ensure designs are executable and stay within budget.
- Coordinate directly with carpenters and manufacturers to oversee the fabrication of your furniture designs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Drawing Mastery: Proven experience creating shop drawings and detailed construction blueprints specifically for furniture fabrication.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, V ray, Lumion or similar industry-standard design and rendering software.
- Strong understanding of furniture ergonomics, materials (wood, metal, stone, glass), joinery methods, and hardware specification.
- Excellent communication skills to present ideas to clients and technical instructions to makers.
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or Product/Furniture Design.
