Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Engineer experienced in stainless steel reactor / pressure vessel fabrication. The candidate will ensure all fabricated equipment meets design specifications, welding standards, and quality requirements through inspections, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform incoming material inspection for SS plates, pipes, tubes, and fittings.
Conduct in-process inspections during fabrication, welding, and assembly of SS reactors and pressure vessels.
Carry out and monitor NDT inspections (UT, PT, MT, RT) as per approved procedures.
Verify weld quality, dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish.
Maintain inspection reports, test certificates, and quality documentation.
Prepare and review Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and checklists.
Ensure proper traceability of materials and weld joints.
Compile final quality dossiers and manufacturing data reports for customers.
Ensure compliance with ASME / IS fabrication standards and client specifications.
Monitor adherence to welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welder qualifications.
Ensure fabrication activities meet safety and quality standards.
Coordinate with production, welding supervisors, and design engineers for quality issues.
Perform vendor inspection for outsourced components if required.
Support customer inspections and third-party inspections.
Witness hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, and dimensional checks of reactors.
Ensure proper finishing, polishing, passivation, and surface quality of SS equipment.
Approve final release after verifying all inspection stages.
Required Skills
Knowledge of pressure vessel / reactor fabrication processes.
Understanding of NDT methods and interpretation (Level II certified).
Familiarity with engineering drawings and fabrication tolerances.
Basic knowledge of ASME, IS, or fabrication standards.
Ability to prepare inspection reports and quality documentation.
Preferred Skills
Experience in pharmaceutical / chemical equipment manufacturing.
Knowledge of welding inspection and surface finishing of stainless steel.
Familiarity with hydro test procedures and pressure vessel inspection.
