Job Summary
Rol Asia Limited is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining VTL machines to produce high-quality machined components according to engineering drawings and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
- Perform machining operations as per production requirements.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report breakdowns promptly.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Meet daily production targets and minimize material wastage.
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Machinist, Turner, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade.
- 2–5 years of experience operating VTL machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, and machine maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety practices in a machine shop.
Preferred Skills
- Experience machining large and heavy components.
- Basic knowledge of CNC VTL operations is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts when required.
