Fire & Safety Officer
Job Summary
SMV Super Speciality Hospital is seeking a dedicated and proactive Fire & Safety Officer to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees, and hospital assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing fire safety measures, conducting safety inspections, ensuring statutory compliance, and promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain fire safety systems, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, smoke detectors, and fire alarm systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of all hospital departments to identify and eliminate fire and safety hazards.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, statutory requirements, and hospital safety policies.
- Plan, organize, and conduct fire drills, emergency evacuation drills, and safety awareness programs for hospital staff.
- Train employees on fire prevention, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment.
- Coordinate with government authorities and fire department officials during inspections and audits.
- Maintain records of fire safety equipment inspections, maintenance schedules, and incident reports.
- Investigate fire incidents, accidents, and near-miss events, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure emergency exits, evacuation routes, and firefighting equipment remain accessible and operational at all times.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, housekeeping, and security departments to maintain hospital safety standards.
- Support disaster management planning and emergency preparedness activities.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and medical gases in accordance with applicable safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Fire & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Certification in Fire & Safety is preferred.
- Experience in hospitals or healthcare facilities will be an added advantage.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of fire prevention and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Good observation and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergencies.
- Basic computer knowledge and report preparation skills.
Pay: From ₹10,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
