Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Chaat & Mumbai Street Food Chef with expertise in preparing authentic Mumbai-style street food, chaat, and snacks. The candidate should be capable of maintaining consistency, taste, hygiene, and speed of service while handling daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic Mumbai street food items such as:
- Pani Puri
- Sev Puri
- Dahi Puri
- Bhel Puri
- Ragda Pattice
- Samosa Chaat
- Papdi Chaat
- Dahi Bhalla
- Vada Pav
- Pav Bhaji
- Misal Pav
- Kachori Chaat
- Sandwiches and other street-food specialties
- Prepare and maintain chutneys, ragda, pani, curd mixtures, masalas, and other pre-preparations.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Manage mise en place and service during peak hours.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and stock levels.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
- Minimize food wastage and control food costs.
- Coordinate with service staff for efficient order execution.
- Train and supervise helpers and junior kitchen staff.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mumbai street food and chaat preparation.
- Expertise in preparing various chutneys, pani, ragda, and spice blends.
- Ability to maintain high production volumes without compromising quality.
- Knowledge of food costing, portion control, and inventory management.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a Chaat Counter, Fast Food Outlet, Restaurant, or Catering Kitchen.
- Formal culinary training is an added advantage.
- Experience in handling live chaat counters is preferred.
Salary Range
₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month (Based on experience and skill level)
Preferred Additional Skills
- Knowledge of South Indian snacks, Tea & Beverage preparation.
- Experience in live counters for events and catering.
- Ability to standardize recipes and train team members.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
