Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchase Manager with relevant experience in fabrication, manufacturing, and WTP/STP/ETP plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in procurement processes, vendor management, inventory control, and ERP systems, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
- Manage procurement of spares, materials, consumables, equipment, and services as per project requirements
- Ensure strict adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, and internal controls
- Develop, review, and implement procurement SOPs to improve efficiency and governance
- Drive cost optimization while ensuring timely availability of materials
Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with O&M, Project, and Accounts teams for procurement planning and execution
- Prepare and present periodic procurement reports (weekly/monthly) to management
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation of all procurement activities
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Plan and manage inventory levels to ensure operational continuity
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Monitor and control slow-moving and obsolete inventory
Audit & Compliance
- Conduct internal audits of procurement and inventory records across locations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable statutory requirements
ERP & System Management
- Utilize ERP systems for procurement processing, inventory tracking, and reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in ERP systems
- Generate MIS reports and support process improvements through ERP utilization
Other Responsibilities
- Optimize procurement lead times to minimize project delays and operational downtime
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by senior management
Candidate Profile
- 4–8 years of experience in procurement within fabrication/manufacturing/WTP/STP/ETP industries
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes such as bending, rolling, and press operations
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (procurement and inventory modules preferred)
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
