Role Overview
We are seeking a result-oriented Sales Officer with proven experience in FMCG, fragrance, cosmetics, or personal care products. The candidate will be responsible for driving primary and secondary sales, expanding market presence, strengthening distributor and retailer relationships, and achieving sales targets across the assigned territory.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent market knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build long-term business relationships while ensuring maximum product visibility and availability.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary and secondary sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and onboard retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and modern trade accounts.
- Expand market coverage by increasing the number of active outlets within the assigned territory.
- Drive sales growth through effective territory planning and execution.
Distributor & Retail Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts.
- Monitor distributor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Resolve distributor and retailer concerns to maintain healthy business relationships.
- Ensure product availability across all assigned outlets.
Market Execution
- Execute company sales strategies, promotional activities, and product launches.
- Ensure proper product placement, visibility, merchandising, and branding at retail outlets.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and market trends.
- Recommend initiatives to improve sales performance and market penetration.
Field Operations
- Conduct daily market visits to retailers and distributors.
- Prepare daily call reports (DCR), beat plans, and sales reports.
- Ensure effective route planning for maximum market coverage.
- Track order collection, deliveries, and payment follow-ups.
Sales Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and market intelligence.
- Provide regular feedback to the Sales Manager on market conditions and customer requirements.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with the warehouse, logistics, finance, and marketing teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Support implementation of promotional campaigns and trade marketing initiatives.
- Assist in training distributor sales representatives when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of field sales experience in the Fragrance, FMCG, Cosmetics, Personal Care, or Consumer Goods industry.
- Strong understanding of distributor management, retail sales, and territory development.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets.
- Good knowledge of the Mumbai market and retail landscape.
- Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license and own a two-wheeler for field travel.
