A Primary Teacher (PRT) of Mathematics instructs students (typically Classes I–V) in foundational numeracy. Responsibilities include developing engaging lesson plans, utilizing activity-based teaching aids, assessing student performance, and fostering logical reasoning through real-life mathematical problem-solving.
- Curriculum Delivery: Execute the prescribed math syllabus using experiential, tech-enabled, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Skill Development: Build early mathematical concepts including mental math, spatial awareness, and logical problem-solving.
- Assessments & Grading: Design worksheets, conduct class tests, grade assignments, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages participation.
- Parent-Teacher Engagement: Participate in regular Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to discuss academic progress and behavior.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree (preferably in Mathematics) alongside a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or relevant elementary teaching diploma.
- Experience: Typically requires 2–5 years of primary teaching experience in reputed schools.
- Soft Skills: Impeccable communication in English, patience, and the ability to make numbers enjoyable for young learners.
