The Banquet Sales Manager is responsible for generating banquet and event business by developing strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving revenue targets. The role involves managing the complete sales cycle—from lead generation and site inspections to contract negotiation and event handover—while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and maximizing banquet revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate banquet sales through corporate clients, social events, weddings, conferences, exhibitions, and other functions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate companies, event planners, travel partners, and local businesses.
- Achieve monthly and annual banquet revenue targets.
- Conduct property tours and site inspections for prospective clients.
- Prepare competitive proposals, quotations, and banquet event contracts.
- Negotiate pricing and terms while maintaining profitability.
- Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Operations, and Front Office teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Attend client meetings and manage event planning until successful completion.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and update CRM/database regularly.
- Follow up on inquiries, leads, and post-event feedback.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
- Participate in promotional events, networking activities, and sales campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, service standards, and brand guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of banquet sales experience in a reputed hotel, resort, convention center, or premium banquet property.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding banquet revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of banquet operations and event planning.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and hotel sales/CRM systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple events, and meet deadlines.
