A Visual Merchandiser (VM) in the textile industry is responsible for making the showroom visually attractive by arranging garments, fabrics, mannequins, and displays in a creative way. Their role is to improve customer experience, highlight products, and increase sales through effective store presentation and fashion-focused display techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and arrange in-store displays for textiles, garments, and fashion accessories.
- Plan window displays and seasonal themes to attract customers.
- Coordinate color combinations, lighting, mannequins, and props for effective presentation.
- Ensure store layout maximizes customer flow and product visibility.
- Monitor stock presentation and replenish displays when needed.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams for promotional campaigns.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards across all sections.
- Analyze customer trends and market styles to improve display concepts.
- Train store staff on display maintenance and presentation standards.
Required Skills
- Creativity and strong sense of fashion/style.
- Knowledge of textile products, fabrics, and fashion trends.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of retail sales and customer behavior.
- Ability to use design tools or visual planning software.

Educational Qualification
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Designing, Visual Merchandising, Textile Designing, Retail Management, or related field.
- Experience in retail or textile showroom merchandising is preferred.
