About the Role
We are looking for a responsible and compassionate MBBS Fresher to join our team as a Residential Medical Officer (RMO). The RMO will be responsible for providing round-the-clock medical supervision, monitoring residents' health, handling medical emergencies, maintaining clinical records, and coordinating with psychiatrists and other members of the clinical team.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Medical Care
- Conduct initial medical assessment of residents at the time of admission.
- Monitor vital signs and general physical health regularly.
- Attend to routine medical complaints and minor illnesses.
- Identify medical complications and arrange timely specialist consultation when required.
- Coordinate with the Psychiatrist and senior doctors regarding patient care.
2. Emergency Management
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the centre.
- Provide initial assessment and emergency medical management.
- Stabilize patients and coordinate ambulance/hospital referral whenever required.
- Maintain proper documentation of all emergencies and interventions.
3. Medication Management
- Administer and supervise medications as prescribed by the treating Psychiatrist/Consultant.
- Monitor patients for adverse effects, withdrawal symptoms, and changes in clinical condition.
- Ensure proper medication records and handover to the concerned team.
4. Patient Monitoring
- Maintain regular observation of residents, particularly high-risk or medically vulnerable patients.
- Monitor sleep, appetite, behaviour, withdrawal symptoms and general physical condition.
- Escalate any significant change in the patient's condition to the senior doctor immediately.
5. Documentation
- Maintain accurate medical records, progress notes, treatment charts and emergency records.
- Complete admission and discharge-related medical documentation.
- Ensure proper clinical handover between shifts.
6. Coordination & Teamwork
- Work closely with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Counsellors and Centre Management.
- Participate in clinical meetings and case discussions.
- Communicate professionally with patients and their families regarding routine medical updates, as directed by the treating doctor.
Candidate Requirements
- MBBS degree from an NMC/State Medical Council recognized institution.
- Valid medical registration.
- Fresh MBBS graduates are welcome to apply.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient and responsible approach.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly.
- Willingness to work in a residential rehabilitation setting.
- Basic computer and medical documentation skills.
