Role Overview
The Fresher – Statutory Audit will join CNK's Assurance team and work on statutory audit and related assurance assignments under the guidance of experienced Managers, Senior Managers and Partners.
This role is suitable for a recently qualified Chartered Accountant looking to build a strong career in statutory audit and assurance.
The candidate will receive exposure to audit planning, financial statement analysis, audit procedures, internal controls, accounting standards, audit documentation and client interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Execution
- Assist in planning and executing statutory audit assignments.
- Understand client business processes and financial reporting systems.
- Perform audit procedures as assigned by the engagement team.
- Examine books of accounts, ledgers, schedules and supporting documents.
- Perform substantive audit procedures.
- Assist in testing of financial statement balances and transactions.
- Perform analytical procedures and variance analysis.
- Assist in verification of assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
- Document audit procedures and conclusions appropriately.
- Prepare and maintain audit working papers.
- Identify unusual transactions or potential audit issues and escalate them to seniors.
Financial Statement Review
- Assist in reviewing financial statements.
- Check compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Assist in checking disclosures and supporting schedules.
- Understand the linkage between financial statements, ledgers and supporting documentation.
- Assist seniors in resolving financial reporting and accounting queries.
Internal Controls
- Understand client business processes and internal control environments.
- Assist in walkthroughs and control testing.
- Document process understanding and control observations.
- Identify control gaps and communicate them to the senior team.
- Support internal financial control-related audit procedures.
Client Interaction
- Coordinate with client finance teams for audit-related information.
- Follow up for pending schedules and supporting documents.
- Participate in client discussions under the supervision of seniors.
- Maintain professional communication with client stakeholders.
Professional Development
- Develop strong practical knowledge of statutory audit.
- Build expertise in Ind AS and applicable Accounting Standards.
- Understand Standards on Auditing.
- Develop knowledge of Companies Act and other relevant statutory requirements.
- Learn CNK's audit methodology and documentation standards.
- Participate in internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Candidate Eligibility
Mandatory Requirement
- Candidate must have completed CA.
- CA qualification is mandatory.
- Freshly qualified Chartered Accountants are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates awaiting CA final results should not be treated as qualified CA candidates for this requirement unless specifically approved by CNK.
- Strong academic and professional credentials will be preferred.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
