About the Role
AvatarX is looking for a Backend Engineer to help build the core technology platform powering the AvatarX ecosystem. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems, APIs, and platform services that support multiple products across AI, creative tools, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
As one of the first engineering hires, you will play a key role in shaping the technical foundation, engineering standards, and long-term architecture of the platform. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and opportunities to influence technical decisions.
-Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs.
* Build secure, reliable, and high-performance microservices.
* Design and maintain database architecture and data models.
* Develop RESTful APIs and platform integrations.
* Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Collaborate with frontend, AI, cloud, and product teams.
* Contribute to software architecture and engineering best practices.
* Write clean, maintainable, well-tested production code.
* Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

* Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
* Experience with Node.js and modern backend frameworks.
* Experience building RESTful APIs.
* Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

* Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
