Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Shipping Expediter with end-to-end expertise in global shipping terms, customs procedures, load optimization, and freight pricing. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of multimodal transport operations (Air, Sea, and Land), driving seamless clearance, accurate documentation, precise palletization planning, and competitive in-house freight bidding and quotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Freight Bidding & In-House Quotation: Issue accurate in-house freight quotes for commercial bids and tenders by analyzing route dynamics, carrier rates, fuel surcharges, and dimensional weights across Air, Sea, and Land modes.
- Load & Palletization Calculation: Calculate exact volumetric weight, gross weight, CBM, palletization layout, and container load optimization (FCL/LCL, ULD, flatbed/curtainsider) to prevent cargo damage and optimize freight costs.
- Incoterms & Shipping Terms Mastery: Apply deep working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 (DDP, DAP, FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW, etc.) across all contracts, shipping instructions, and risk-allocation decisions.
- Customs & Clearance Documentation: Prepare, audit, and manage critical shipping documents including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (HBL/MBL), Air Waybills (HAWB/MAWB), CMR/Consignment Notes, Certificates of Origin, EUR.1, and Customs Declarations.
- Multimodal Expedition & Tracking: Actively expedite shipments across Air, Sea, and Land routes, tracking milestones, proactively identifying transit delays, and driving immediate resolution with lines, truckers, and port authorities.
- Stakeholder & Carrier Management: Negotiate and coordinate directly with freight forwarders, custom brokers, shipping lines, air cargo agents, and transport vendors to ensure timely pickup, customs release, and final delivery.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict adherence to international trade regulations, customs clearance compliance, hazardous material guidelines (DG/IATA/IMDG, if applicable), and company logistics SOPs.
- Reporting & Analytics: Maintain accurate real-time logistics trackers, analyze vendor rate competitiveness, and generate performance reports on shipment lead times and landed costs.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Commerce, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Shipping Expediter or Senior Logistics Executive in Freight Forwarding, Import/Export, or International Supply Chain.
- UAE Experience will be an added advantage
- Multimodal Expertise: Proven track record handling Air, Sea (FCL/LCL), and Land freight operations simultaneously.
- Technical Skills: Deep practical proficiency in cargo weight/volume calculation, pallet utilization software or manual CBM/pallet matrix formulas, and logistics tracking systems.
- Documentation Expertise: Complete mastery of customs clearance workflows, import/export regulations, and shipping documentation.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, CBM calculators), ERP/logistics software, and professional email correspondence.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, high detail orientation, sharp negotiation skills, and exceptional problem-solving capabilities under time-sensitive deadlines.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
