Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate 3D Artist / Generalist Faculty to train and mentor students in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and animation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industry-standard tools like Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine, and Unity. The faculty will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, assisting students in portfolio development, and aligning the curriculum with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Training
- Deliver engaging theory and practical sessions on 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, and rendering.
- Train students on industry tools like Autodesk Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine, Unity, and Arnold/V-Ray.
- Provide hands-on workshops and real-world projects to enhance practical learning.
- Guide students in creating industry-standard portfolios and showreels.
- Stay updated with latest trends and tools in 3D design, gaming, and animation.
2. Student Mentorship & Portfolio Development
- Assist students in developing high-quality 3D assets, characters, environments, and animations.
- Review and provide feedback on student projects, portfolios, and assignments.
- Organize portfolio review sessions and mock interviews for job readiness.
3. Curriculum Development & Industry Alignment
- Update and refine the curriculum based on industry trends and studio requirements.
- Develop lesson plans, assignments, and project briefs for structured learning.
- Integrate real-world projects and case studies into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with industry professionals to bring guest lectures and workshops.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine, Unity, and V-Ray/Arnold.
- Expertise in modeling (hard surface & organic), texturing, lighting, rendering, and animation.
- Knowledge of PBR texturing workflows and game asset optimization.
- Familiarity with rigging and basic animation.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and engage students effectively.
- Passion for teaching and nurturing young creative talent.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and industry professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Animation, Game Design, VFX, or a related field.
- 1+ years of industry experience in animation, gaming, or visual effects.
- Prior teaching or training experience is a plus.
- Portfolio showcasing 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering work.
