Job Purpose
To monitor, control, and analyze project costs for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) projects, ensuring effective budget utilization, financial compliance, cost optimization, and timely reporting to management. The role is responsible for maintaining financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle and supporting project teams with accurate cost information for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and cash flows.
- Track project costs against approved budgets and identify variances.
- Prepare cost reports, budget forecasts, and financial dashboards.
- Analyze project performance and recommend corrective actions for cost overruns.
- Review and validate project-related invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor bills.
- Ensure proper allocation of project costs to respective cost centers and work packages.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and project cost estimates.
- Support project managers in developing project financial plans.
- Monitor budget utilization and maintain budgetary controls.
- Prepare monthly cost-to-complete and project profitability reports.
- Ensure accurate accounting of project expenses in ERP/accounting systems.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management review.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Reconcile project accounts and maintain financial records.
- Review vendor contracts from a financial and commercial perspective.
- Monitor vendor payments as per contractual terms.
- Verify work completion certifications before processing payments.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams regarding cost implications of contract changes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation laws, and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Maintain proper records of project financial transactions.
- Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Engineering, and Site Teams.
- Provide financial insights to support project decision-making.
- Participate in project review meetings and present cost performance reports.
Educational Qualification
- MBA (Finance) / M. Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter / bachelor’s degree in commerce.
- Additional certification in Project Finance, Cost Management, or ERP Systems will be preferred. Navision.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Cost Control, EPC Projects, Infrastructure, Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, or Industrial Projects.
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
