SEEDS (Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society) is a not-for-profit organization that enables every individual with practical solutions for disaster lifecycle management and a sustainable environment. It builds self-reliant, resilient, and sustainable communities across boundaries using innovation and engaging at the grassroots. Overview:
As a Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing activities of the SEEDS Group. You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards. Your expertise in procurement and supply chain management will be instrumental in supporting the organization's operations and overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the SEEDS Group's objectives, considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, and supplier performance.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers/vendors, maintaining strong working relationships. Regularly assess supplier performance and initiate necessary improvements.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favourable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring the most cost-effective and value-driven agreements.
- Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost optimization without compromising quality and operational efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure that the right amount of materials and products are available to meet project delivery needs.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulations while promoting ethical procurement practices.
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, new product developments, and changes in the procurement landscape to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions to the procurement process.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, such as program delivery, finance, and quality assurance, to understand their procurement needs and ensure a seamless procurement process.
- Performance Metrics: Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement efficiency and effectiveness, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible procurement practices, evaluating suppliers' environmental impact and supporting sustainable sourcing efforts.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier evaluation methods.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic business needs and work under pressure.
