Role summary:
- Senior leader owning QA/QC for raw materials, production, finished goods, and pre-shipment for export customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and maintain quality standards, tech packs, sampling plans, and SOPs.
- Lead incoming material checks, in‑process inspections, and pre-shipment inspections.
- Manage QC team, hire/train inspectors, set KPIs, and run factory audits.
- Coordinate lab testing for strength, colorfastness, chemical/REACH checks as needed.
- Control non-conformances, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manage supplier qualification, performance scorecards, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, social/environmental certifications
- Handle customer quality communication, claims, and recovery actions.
- Report quality metrics to leadership (defect rates, pass/fail, supplier performance).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Textile/Materials/Industrial Engineering or related.
- 8+ years in QA/QC for bags/soft goods/apparel; 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of textiles, sewing processes, trims, and export quality norms.
- Experienced with lab testing, audits, and quality systems (Lean/Six Sigma a plus).
- Excellent communication; willing to travel to supplier sites.
