Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tool Design and Drawing Manager to
oversee our tool design, drawing creation, and tool store management operations. The ideal
candidate will have extensive experience in the fasteners industry and a strong background
in working with OEMs and auto parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the tool design and drawing team, ensuring high-quality and timely
delivery of tool designs and technical drawings.
- Develop and implement efficient tool design processes, standards, and best practices to
enhance productivity and quality.
- Oversee the creation and review of detailed technical drawings and designs using CAD
software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Manage the tool store, including inventory management, procurement, and maintenance of
tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure tools and designs
meet production requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning
and maintenance.
- Track tool life and performance, implementing improvements and replacements as
necessary to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of tool designs, drawings, inventory, and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the tool design and drawing team, fostering a
culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements in tool design technology, and best
practices.
- Prepare and present reports on tool design and store management activities to senior
management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a
related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in tool design and drawing within the fasteners industry, with
significant exposure to OEM and auto parts sectors.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and tool design
methodologies.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of tool manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proven experience in managing tool stores, including inventory control and procurement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with
cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is
a plus.
