Job Summary:
The Field Sales Officer at Chundakadan Agencies is responsible for developing and executing brand strategies to enhance brand visibility and market presence across all districts of Kerala. The role involves ensuring consistency in brand identity, planning and managing regional marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer engagement and business growth.
Core Responsibilities:
- Visit shops, dealers, builders, and contractors as per the assigned route plan to promote company products and generate sales orders.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets in terms of volume, value, and product mix.
- Present product catalogues, pricing details, and promotional offers effectively to customers. Identify, appoint, and maintain strong relationships with new and existing dealers within the assigned territory.
- Monitor customer stock levels regularly, recommend timely reorders, and coordinate with the supply team for smooth product availability.
- Follow up on outstanding collections and ageing reports to ensure timely payments and healthy account management. Verify field orders, invoices, and customer-related documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Submit daily reports on sales activities, customer visits, collections, and market feedback to the Area Sales Manager. Maintain and update customer databases, competitor information, and market opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and escalate recurring issues to the concerned department when required. Participate actively in sales review meetings by presenting territory performance summaries and action plans.
- Maintain accurate route plans, call logs, expense statements, and other required field records.
- Ensure adherence to company policies related to pricing, discounts, credit terms, and ethical business practices.
- Support product promotions, marketing campaigns, and new product launches to enhance market presence and sales growth.
- Plan and execute mass marketing activities within the assigned territory to enhance brand visibility, generate customer awareness, and support sales growth.
Additional Essential Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, distributors, builders, contractors, and other channel partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage within the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular market visits to understand customer requirements and competitor activities.
- Ensure proper product visibility, merchandising, and display activities at customer outlets.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team for timely delivery of products.
- Assist in implementing trade schemes, promotional activities, and seasonal sales campaigns.
- Provide product knowledge and usage guidance to customers whenever required.
- Track secondary sales performance and suggest strategies to improve sales growth.
- Maintain discipline in daily travel plans, reporting schedules, and field operations.
- Support senior management in achieving regional sales and business development goals.
- Gather customer feedback and market insights to improve products and services.
- Ensure proper recovery of damaged, expired, or returned products as per company policy.
- Attend training sessions, sales meetings, and company events as assigned by management.
- Maintain professional conduct and represent the company positively in the market.
- Assist in onboarding and guiding new dealers or junior sales staff when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required; a Master’s degree in Marketing or an MBA will be an added advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in field sales, preferably in FMCG, building materials, hardware distribution, consumer products, or related B2B sectors.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting and sales data management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Malayalam and English, with the ability to build effective customer relationships across Kerala.
- Possession of a valid two-wheeler and four-wheeler driving license with willingness to travel extensively within the assigned market across Kerala.
