In a Nutshell
First things first, your chief concern is to ensure a safer and more conducive and efficient work environment for yourself, your team, the client and the vendors and contractors under your purview. A core duty of your role is to exert all practicable influence to ensure the compliance and governance of all accounts in the designated country (s)
In addition, you will advise key engineers and technicians under your direct oversight on ascertaining and reducing the level of risk at sites and guiding them to form a relevant and up to date risk register and legal register for hard services. You will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence and innovation, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering programs, projects and products and grooming country level engineers indirectly. As the critical SME for the account, the successful individual will be expected to clearly demonstrate the engineering strengths of JLL and the vision and roadmap of engineering that the client desires and in the future whilst serving as an engineering advisory to key account directors and relevant leaders.

You should be resilient and adaptable and seek to understand the client’s requirements and the best of industry standards to ensure high standards are being translated to the accounts and sites in your jurisdiction. Whatever issues that you spot / are sought as a secondary or tertiary point of functional support, you should be quick to figure out the best repairs and solutions leveraging on JLL’s COE platform. Your input and ideas will be sought to help steer the team in directions that help make various facilities perform at its best. You intrinsically understand the needs of the client but that the maturity of sites is a progressive journey and will direct site and client specific plans that will grow at the needed pace.
This role revolves you functioning as a subject matter expert resource with keen technical skills and program management, mechanical, electrical and water treatment knowledge and executive presence to serve senior management clients. It is a requirement for you to be conversant with mechanical, civil (basic) and electrical diagrams and advantageous to have the ability to utilize associated programs and tools such as BIM, autocad, Forscore, CAR insights, CMMS etc. to validate and improve total cost of ownership, reduce risk and cost and improve efficiencies for the client(s). This is a fast paced role with tangible benefits and visible success indicators that requires you to optimize the talents of the varied stakeholders involved. A seasoned leader, you will use the appropriate communication sills to ensure the right message is received across stakeholders of varying levels and there is no communication gap.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the engineering function, aligning it with the overall organizational goals and objectives under the direction of the account director and taking advice from the engineering COE platform as appropriate.
Develop and implement engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and in alignment to regional and global frameworks
Manage and lead a team of engineers (direct and indirect) and technicians, including hiring, training, mentoring, and possibly performance management.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes, methodologies, and adoption of technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Monitor market trends and changes to ensure that JLL provides industry best practice in the delivery of Engineering and IFM services.
Provide engineering transformations and minor project support for newly added sites or key changes global and regional transformations and transitions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and other stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects.
Develop and manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to meet business requirements.
Understand sub – regional needs for the sub region
Oversee engineering design, development, testing, and implementation processes to deliver high-quality products and solutions that have been promised at various points in the client contract cycle,
Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify skills gaps, and provide mentoring and training opportunities to enhance the team's capabilities.
Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in engineering and related industries to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness.
Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team and across the organization.
Sound like you? To apply you need to have: RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (preferred) or a related field. Diploma holders with the relevant certifications and experience will be considered
Extensive experience (at least 15 years) in engineering roles, with a proven track record of leadership and managing technology-driven projects. Advantageous if you have worked in a core platform role
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and methodologies.
Experience in a managerial or leadership role, with the ability to lead and motivate a high-performing engineering team especially indirectly
Solid understanding of project management processes and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive innovation, process improvement, and change management initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
Professional certifications, such as Professional Engineer (PE), SCEM, etc. highly desired
RCM training CRL, CMM etc. is advantageous
Design thinking or Lean Six Sigma is highly preferred
