About the Role
You will own the technical health of the Weddinglane website. This includes crawl management, Core Web Vitals, redirect integrity, schema markup, and site indexation. We are currently in the middle of a migration from BookWedGo to Weddinglane, so the first three months will be hands-on and fast-paced.
You will work directly with the SEO Lead and alongside two other SEO executives, handling content and analytics.
What You Will Do
Daily
- Check Google Search Console every morning for coverage errors, CTR, and impressions. Flag any drop over 15% to the SEO Lead before 10 am.
- Monitor Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FID) on mobile and desktop. Raise a dev ticket the same day if any metric falls into the Poor band.
- During Month 1: verify redirect integrity twice a day (9 am and 5 pm). No chains, no loops.
- Log pages indexed vs submitted. If the count drops by 50 or more, flag it immediately.
Weekly
- Run a full site crawl every Monday using Screaming Frog. Create a P1/P2/P3 issue list. Resolve all P1 items by Friday.
- Add schema markup to 3 pages per week (LocalBusiness, FAQ, Event, Review). Validate using the Google Rich Results Test.
- Fix all GSC mobile usability errors. Raise dev tickets where needed.
- Review the Microsoft Clarity data and note the top three UX issues in the shared tracker.
- Check and fix canonical tag errors. No duplicate content issues should remain open past the week they are found.
Monthly
- Submit a 10-slide site health report to the SEO Lead by the 1st of each month.
- Run a page speed sprint on the 20 lowest-scoring pages. Record PSI scores before and after.
- Compare Weddinglane's performance against WedMeGood and Shaadi.com in terms of PSI score, crawl depth, and index size.
- Expand schema coverage to new page types. Track rich result eligibility in GSC.
What We Are Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in technical SEO, preferably from a digital agency or startup.
- Comfortable working without a fixed process, as you figure things out and move forward.
- Familiar with how Google crawls, indexes, and ranks pages.
- Uses AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) regularly to speed up analysis, schema generation, and reporting.
- Responds quickly to problems; does not wait to be told twice.
