This role focuses on physics-based modelling of powertrain systems (engine, coolant, evaporative purge, exhaust), supporting control system development, integration and validation. You will work closely with global teams to build and maintain high-quality plant models for simulation and testing.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of internal combustion engine fundamentals, automotive control systems, and simulation methodologies.
-
Develop, integrate, and release plant models (powertrain, transmission, electrical, and vehicle systems) using AMESim and MATLAB/Simulink.
-
Support control system validation in SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) environments.
-
Maintain and enhance simulation environments for closed-loop validation
-
Collaborate with global modelling teams to ensure consistency and reuse of models
-
Create and maintain:
-
Plant model requirement documents
-
Test plans, test cases, and validation reports
-
Perform testing on MIL/SIL/HIL platforms, dynamometers.
-
Work with feature engineers to gather data for model parameterization
-
Participate in design reviews to ensure quality deliverables
-
Support issue resolution and debugging of embedded control systems
-
Mentor validation engineers and support OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) validation activities
-
Contribute to research and advanced development by enabling model reuse across programs
