Job Purpose
The Regional Sales Manager / Deputy Regional Sales Manager drives business development and commercial performance for the Rapid PCD Division. This executive role focuses on directing, coaching, and motivating a regional team of Assistant Sales Managers (ASMs) and Technical Sales Representatives. The primary objective is to maximize market penetration of clinical diagnostics products while maintaining healthy financial control over regional expenditures and receivables.
Key Responsibilities1. Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Direct and motivate the regional sales force to consistently achieve or exceed annual budgeted sales volume and profit goals.
- Negotiate specific territory targets alongside sales representatives and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Identify promotional candidates within the field force and design clear career progression tracks to develop talent.
- Advise the National Sales Manager (NSM) regarding the recruitment, initial onboarding, supervision, or termination of regional field staff.
2. Strategic Field Coaching & Execution
- Spend substantial time in the field alongside technical representatives to provide tactical coaching and audit customer service quality.
- Implement and track regional business plans, revenue forecasts, and market penetration strategies co-designed with Product Managers.
- Audit field team effectiveness by reviewing monitoring procedures regularly and correcting performance anomalies immediately.
- Enforce absolute alignment with company operational guidelines, compliance standards, and internal corporate codes of practice.
3. Commercial Operations & Account Management
- Build and sustain deep business partnerships with key regional healthcare institutions, clinical accounts, and reference laboratories.
- Coordinate end-to-end commercial responses to official institutional or government customer tenders.
- Manage commercial negotiations and promotional deals strictly within predefined pricing matrices and discount authorizations.
- Maintain tight financial discipline by strictly managing field selling expenses and ensuring the Average Accounts Receivable (AR) remains below 35 days from the invoice date.
- Deliver timely and highly accurate market insight, tracking metrics, and sales progress updates as requested by the NSM.
Performance Measurements (KPIs)
- Target Achievement: Full realization of sales and marketing budgets across all Assigned Product Groups.
- Receivables Management: Maintaining average regional AR metrics consistently below the 35-day invoicing threshold.
- Product Mix Balance: Securing a healthy, balanced product mix across all distinct territories and third-party agents.
- Financial Control: Keeping all field travel, marketing, and operational selling expenses within predefined regional budgets.
- Corporate Alignment: Demonstrating absolute compliance with organizational Mission and Quality Performance frameworks.
Requirements & QualificationsEducational Background
- Minimum Requirement: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biological Sciences / Life Sciences; OR B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering.
- Preferred Qualification: A postgraduate Management Degree or specialized diploma in Sales & Marketing.
Experience Parameters
- Industry Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive field experience within the Clinical Diagnostics sector.
- Leadership Depth: Proven track record as a successful Line Manager with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue metrics through other people.
- Core Competencies: Advanced strategic project management capability, strong commercial negotiation acumen, and solid analytical skills.
Authority & Delegated Powers
- Overseeing and signing off on overall regional sales reports.
- Reviewing regional expense claims and recommending structural budget optimization to leadership.
- Driving training cycles for subordinates and filing official Quality Performance / corrective training records.
